Meet the horse before the trail
We match temperament, confidence and pace. You learn the horse's signals, groom, feed and prepare together before anyone asks you to ride.

Kufur Khal / Jerash - Northern Jordan
A small horse-led retreat with farm life, forest trails, quiet evenings and Jordanian hospitality.
Athar means trace
For three days, the horse is not a prop in your holiday. You meet, listen, groom, feed, prepare and travel together.
The care moves both ways. As you learn the horse's pace and boundaries, ordinary noise begins to fall away. No performance, no forced sharing, just time, attention and the honest company of another living being.
Why the partnership mattersThe shape of the journey
The three-day arc is deliberate. The exact timing is not: weather, trail conditions, horse welfare and guest confidence always lead.
We match temperament, confidence and pace. You learn the horse's signals, groom, feed and prepare together before anyone asks you to ride.

Short and longer routes move through northern Jordan's oak, olive and limestone landscape. The route changes with weather, horse welfare and the group.

Phones rest securely while journaling, terrace time, shared food and fire make space for attention. Emergency contact remains possible throughout.

The closing includes planting something native to the land and saying goodbye to the horse who carried part of the journey with you.

See the room planThe retreat through the year
Northern Jordan changes. Athar changes with it, from early summer trails to wet stone, winter mist and the occasional light snow.
Cool mornings and fresh growth make spring especially vivid. Rain can soften the trails and may change the day's route.
Rides begin early to avoid the strongest heat. The middle of the day is for food, rest, grooming and quiet terrace time.
Autumn brings a drier palette and comfortable trail days. Evenings can turn cool quickly in the hills.
Winter is atmospheric rather than guaranteed. Rain, mud or snow can reshape the programme, and unsafe roads or trails may require a transfer or cancellation.
