Yes. Athar is designed for beginners through intermediate riders. Matching, ground preparation and route choice are adapted to confidence and physical condition. A longer route is never used as a test of courage.

Yes. One guest can join a small scheduled group of up to eight people. A private solo stay may be possible at an additional price, but the $650 starting price does not promise a private solo retreat.

Room allocation and any single-occupancy supplement are confirmed before reservation. Two rooms have private bathrooms and terraces; two rooms share one bathroom. We will never surprise you with an unagreed room share.

Expect practical layers for changeable hill weather, closed footwear suitable around horses, comfortable riding clothes and any personal medication. Required riding safety equipment and any item supplied by Athar will be confirmed before arrival.

Most journeys continue with sensible adjustments. If roads or trails become unsafe, Athar may shorten, transfer, postpone or cancel the programme. Snow is an occasional seasonal possibility, not a promise.

The team will not ask guests, drivers or horses to use an unsafe road or trail. The journey may be transferred, postponed or cancelled under the reservation terms. Exact notice, alternatives and refund steps are shared before payment.

All four seasons are planned, with different timings and activities. A particular departure still depends on safe road and trail access, weather, horse welfare and operating readiness.

The retreat invites a structured digital pause. Phones can rest in secure individual storage, while a practical emergency-contact process remains available. Personal safety and essential communication come first.

Athar provides an emergency-contact route and a process for accessing a stored phone when genuinely needed. The exact monitored number and handover procedure are confirmed before arrival.

The team considers riding experience, confidence, comfort, physical suitability and each horse's temperament and welfare on that day. A horse's needs may change the match or part of the programme.

Say so early, or at any point. Route Two is roughly three to five hours depending on pace, but a shorter or adjusted experience is provided when it is the safer, kinder choice.

Cancellations made at least 14 days before arrival receive a full refund. Cancellations from 7 to 13 days before arrival receive a 50% refund of amounts paid to Athar, excluding any third-party transfer or bank charges already incurred. Cancellations less than 7 days before arrival and no-shows are non-refundable unless Athar cancels the retreat or confirms another written arrangement.

International guests are responsible for suitable travel and activity insurance, including cancellation and riding-related circumstances. Guests should check that their chosen policy fits a rural horse-led retreat in Jordan.

No. Guests arrange their own flights. Ground transport can be discussed separately once departure points, dates, provider and price are confirmed.
